Scenario 1: your website has been spammed and when you search for your business on Google, it shows spam links in your website’s search results.

While you have removed the corrupted pages from your website, Google still shows the page in its search results.

Scenario 2: you have a private page on your site that you do not want to be indexed / show up in Google.

In both the scenarios, the quickest way to get a page out of Google search results is to follow the process below:

1. Sign up for a Google Account

Most people have a Google account but if you do not have one, create one for free.

2. Verify your site in Google Webmaster tools

Log into Google Webmasters and click on Add a Site button.

Enter the URL of a site you’d like to manage.

Google will then give you a number of methods to verify your site. Pick a method that suits you and click Verify.

Click on continue once verification is complete.

3. Submit URL to be removed

Once you have verified the site, you will be taken to the site dashboard. From the left-hand sidebar, click on Google Index > Remove URLs.

In the next screen, click on Create a new removal request > enter the page URL you want removed and click Continue.

That is it. Your request will be reviewed and processed.

How long does it take to remove a link from Google search results?

Google doesn’t tell you how long it’s going to take to remove the offending link but it should not take more than a couple of days at most.
